The year 2008 has almost gone. It’s time to look back and see what we have
been experienced.
FIN CH, EST LC CH, DVM-06, TK1, TK2 Ikimba Tukufu TT
Nando was just Nando. Which means versatility and nice achievements in the
trials:
- 2 x 1st prize in blood tracking open class - moving up to winners class
- the first entry in obedience elite class
- moving up to agility Maxi-3 class
Nando has now achieved the hardest level in every sport involved in!
- member of unofficial District Champion team in agility (P-HAU ry)
- a feature story “Spotlight on Nando – a versatile Finnish RR” at The Ridgeback
Register, the world famous American breed magazine
- official Finnish temperament test passed with 141 points, gunshot proof
- bear hunting diploma with 63 points – the best scored Finnish Ridgeback so far
INT*, FIN, S, EST & LT CH, LTW-08, TK1, TK2 Malozi Jumoke

Jumo had really spectacular moments in the show rings:
- 4 national champion titles in one year: Finnish, Swedish, Estonian and
Lithuanian CH
- International CH title with 8 cacibs at the age of only 2,5 years
- Lithuanian Winner-08 title and qualification to Crufts 2009
- World Dog Show in Stockholm: EXC-1/40 in open class and Swedish CAC
- 5 x BOB, 3 x BOS
- 3 x BIG-1, 1 x BIG-3, 1 x BIG-4
- top-4 placement in the group finals always when entering (being BOB)
- Finnish Kennel Club’s ranking for top-100 show dogs of a year 2008; placement
81st
and an invitation to the Champion of Champions Gala Show in January 2009
After all these great moments I feel happy to left active showing for the others.
Next year Jumo and I will enjoy in the other hobbies - the things we both like
the most.
In the very end, the best part of this year has been long walks with Nando &
Jumo, looking at them play, wagging tails and smiling faces. Having wet kisses
and warm doggie-hugs. And seeing a tired and happy dog to curl up in an own bed,
have a deep sigh and fall asleep.

FINNISH KENNEL CLUB RANKING LIST FOR TOP SHOW DOG
FKC has published the final ranking list for top show dog of all breeds in 2008. Jumo is among
Top-100 Best Show Dogs in Finland; 81. placement. We also got an invitation
to Champion of Champions Gala Show in January 2009.

Jyväskylä International Show
Jumo won champion males, was BM-1 with his 8th CACIB - and became a new
INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION (pending)!
As a top of the day, Jumo went all the way to the Best in Group-3
placement. Breed entry 18, judge Mr. Harto Stockmari, FIN. Group judge Mr.
Andrzej Kazmierski, POL.
What a great way to close Jumo's show year! Our Super Boy has achieved so much
in so short period of time. And he's still only 2,5 years old :o)

Nando entered agility trial in the highest level, Maxi-III class for the
first time. My husband guided Nando very well, but unfortunately they made
some little mistakes on every three tracks. Detailed results on Nando's

Show in Vantaa. He got EXC-4 in champion class. Judge Mrs. Soile Bister, FIN.

FINNISH KENNEL CLUB RANKING LIST (updated 15.10.2008)
FKC has updated the ranking list for show dog of the year 2008. Jumo is among
Top-100 Best Show Dogs in Finland at the moment; 77. placement with 51
points.

Nando entered a bear hunting test in Vilppula today. The Finnish test is
implemented with the automated bear figure - a real, stuffed bear enhanced with
wheels and engine. A dog must bark at bear and work independently full 10
minutes for having a diploma. More information about the test
here.
Nando worked very well and barked constantly at bear :-) Bear
hunting diploma was gained with 63 points, the best result of the day - well done, Nando!

Nando passed the official temperament test with 141 points in
Lahti today. All performaces were scored at the positive side of the scale and
Nando was evaluated gunshot proof. Detailed results

Jumo seems to enjoy in Heinola show... He was BOB, just like last year

I hurried up to present Jumo in the group finals. Jumo was nicely Best in
Group-4, judge Mr. Jari Fors, FIN. Super Boy!

Boys entered international lure coursing trial in Tampere. Nando messed up
in the first round, but was still able to gain 9th place through a nice
performance in the finals. Jumo didn't took the job so serious - and
why would he... it's just a plastic-rabit ;D

Nando moved up to Maxi-3 class in agility!
My husband guided Nando to clear round and 2nd place
in Hamina today. Nando got Agility-CAC and is now qualified to compete in Maxi-3
class. SUPER!
What makes me even more proud, is the fact that Nando
competes now at the hardest level in all sports involved; agility, obedience and
blood tracking. Not even mention his achievements in the lure coursing fields. "Little-F" just rocks!
Jumo entered the same trial too and was placed at 8th place in Maxi-1 class (faults
10 / time -6,11, entry 36 dogs). Results updated on
Nando's agility page. Jumo's page is still
under construction...

World Dog Show 2008 in Stockholm, Sweden
As the highlight of our show trip came on Sunday, we were totally exhausted -
two Specialty days in hot sunshine, hundreds of Ridgebacks and lots of
excitement - hard but fun! And still we got one long show day ahead...
Males (entry 91) were judged by Mr. Karl-Erik Johansson, SWE. Jumo was entered
in open class of ca. 40 males. He got EXC and won the open class! And
that wasn't all. Jumo won also the CAC competition and became Swedish
Champion at World Winner Show! Totally amazing way to finish the champion
title!!! You should have seen our celebration with the Finnish flag :-) The
moment was very emotional both me at the ring side and Tuija in the ring with
Jumo. Thank you Tuija for handling our super boy - once again!

Jumo got EXC in huge open class of 43 males (only 13 EXC were awarded). Judge

Pärnu International show in Estonia
Päivi and I got a crazy idea couple of months ago – let’s go to Pärnu Int Show.
Well, there’s nothing crazy to go in Pärnu, but when it’s only four days before
the World Winner Show trip to Sweden, you can call it slightly crazy…
But it was worth of going! Both Jumo & Musca got what we were after to - foreign
CACIBs. As an extra bonus, Jumo was BOS with CAC and Musca BB-2 with CAC.
So, they both became Estonian Champion! Jumo has now 7 x CACIB...
super boy! Jumo & Musca were also BOB Brace. Breed entry 10, judge: Mr. Maciej
Kozber, POL.
Thanks Päivi for cheerful company and accommodation when returning to Finland.

SSKY - PARENT CLUB RANKING LIST
Our parent club, the Finnish Companion Dog Association has published the TOP 10
-ranking list for show dog of the year 2007. Jumo was among Top 10 Best Males;
tied 9. placement with 47 points.

Jumo's show weekend continued in Forssa International show. Judge Mr.
Giuseppe Alessandra, Italy. Jumo got EXC-2 and was BM-2 with res-CACIB which
will later be confirmed to CACIB. Jumo has now 6 x CACIB for the INT CH
title! Thank you Tuija for handling Jumo and taking care of him during weekend.

While Jumo performed in the show ring, Nando worked with full heart in the woods
of Vierumäki. Nando entered blood tracking trial, got his second 1st prize in
open class and qualified to compete in winners class! Nando scored 40
points and was the best open class dog of the day :-)

Now it's time for well deserved summer holiday for both boys.
No training or serious sports for a while - just sun bathing, swimming and
relaxing...

Jumo & my husband Timo entered their very first official agility trial in
Hämeenlinna. They competed in two trials and collected some faults and overtime
from the poles in both tracks. Otherwise everything went well. Training
continues :)

Jumo entered champion class at Helsinki INT show. He got EXC-1, was BM-1 with
the 5th CACIB and won Best of Breed! Jumo's most beautiful
sister Musca was BOS. Congratulations Päivi & Tuija! Jumo's "personal handler"
:-) made Jumo to do his best in the group finals... all the way to

Nando participated in our member club's team in Agility
District Championships. Nando and two other team members did clear rounds and
the team won District Champion! The team championships are unofficial.
Nando was guided by my husband Timo Husu. Super team work, boys!
In the meantime Jumo and I entered Joensuu national show. Jumo got EXC-2 in
champion males and was BM-2. Malozi breeder group was BOB with HP and BOB of the
day, Gimli placed nicely BIG-3 in the group finals!

Nando entered two agility trials organised by our agility club P-HAU in Hollola.
We did two clear rounds, but the ideal time was so demanding that we didn't
got our final 0-results for moving up to highest level. The air temperature
nearly 25 degrees didn't help us at all to catch up with those few critical
seconds...
Anyhow, Nando won Maxi-2 class in both trials - super dog! :-)

Jumo's first entry in obedience winners class - a check point for futher
training.
I knew that we still had couple of tasks unsettled and some work in-process, but
I thought it would be nice to test Jumo's endurance and eagerness to work at
harder level. Despite of warm weather Jumo did well. Heeling was super - maybe
the best ever - and retrieving is finally getting better. I'm happy, even though
we didn't get so many points... training continues :o)

Jumo entered Hollola group show and was the only male awarded with EXC. He
received his 8th CAC and was BOS. With this CAC Jumo also
finalized his Finnish Champion title! BOB of the day was Jumo's sister
Jasu - also a new FIN CH :-) Breed entry 12, judge Mr. Tapani Pukkila, FIN. A
big thank to Tuija for handling!

A long and hard show trip behind... Jumo's
results updated.
On Saturday we attended Lithuanian Winner Show in Vilnius. Jumo won the open
class, was BM-1, got Lithuanian CAC and his 4th CACIB! He is now Lithuanian Winner-08
and qualified to enter Crufts in 2009 :o) Malozi breeder group was BIS-4. Breed
entry 18, judge Mr. Tibor Havelka, SLO.

On Sunday it was time to enter Latvian Winner Show in Riga. Jumo won the open
class again, was BM-2 and got res-CACIB. The breeder group went all the way to
BIS-1 placement! As Gimli finally won BIS-2 and BIS-2 Brace with Milka, you can
imagine that we had a lot to celebrate! Champagne was very tasty ;-) Breed entry
21, judge Mrs. Dubravka Reicher, KRO.

Winter Coursing trial at Mustiala
Jumo entered his first LC trial ever and was a little amazed at the occasion.
Anyhow, he managed to get nice total points 406 and CQ (CAC quality=over 400
points).
Nando
ran for total 412 points and got CQ. Boys had so fun :o)
